Boardroom Dialogue
New Hybrid Models of Higher Education for Refugee Researchers - lessons from Pakistan and Rwanda
Date Thursday, Nov 23 Time – Room Queen
In this Boardroom Dialogue, David Hollow will showcase a bespoke hybrid (online and in-person) university accredited training course to create new employment opportunities for young refugee researchers.
GERE (Global Evidence for Refugee Education) is a new initiative to build better evidence and improve decision-making for refugee education. It is built on the foundation of a three year prototype that was undertaken in Rwanda and Pakistan with 31 participating refugee young people who excelled in the midst of major challenges, learning research skills and gaining qualifications in research methods.
This new model of training shows how technology-enhanced training enables refugees to draw links to their own contexts and have a stronger voice within research on topics related to refugee education.
Come and listen to the story, contribute your own insights on this crucial topic and explore how this model can be scaled to have a positive impact for a greater number of refugee students
