Academic Integrity at Risk: How to Safeguard Assessment in the Age of ChatGPT.

Date Thursday, Nov 23  Time   –    Room Potsdam III

This Spotlight Talk will explain how the lack of reliable cheating-detection methods or alternative assessment strategies are threatening the integrity of the academic degree system, which ultimately can undermine the credibility of the entire university sector.

Roger Larsen will discuss the challenges of detecting ghost-writing, an old problem within assessment, but which has been massively amplified by the introduction of generative AI and ChatGPT. He will also showcase the latest research within the field, which have concluded that current AI-detection tools are not sufficient.

Join this talk if you want to find out how universities should mitigate the risk of ghostwriting and plagiarism in the age of ChatGPT.
