Shih-Wei Lo

Shih-Wei Lo has been working at Ottobock, the world market leader in prosthetics, for over 8 years in various positions on the topic of digital learning. Before that, he worked for several years as a special needs teacher and trainer for a subsidiary company of the city of Göttingen.
Shih-Wei Lo business economist (IHK) degree and, while working, completed his B.A. in Business Management and his M.A. in Economics online. He has always continued his education and has taken other certificates/continuing education such as Certified European E-Learning Manager (CELM), Train-the-e-trainer, learn coach, etc.
Lifelong learning is not a phrase for him, he lives it and likes to share his knowledge and experiences to discuss, learn and develop.
Evan Frendo
Training Consultant, Self Employed, Germany
Evan Frendo is a freelance teacher, trainer and author, specializing in Business English and English for Specific Purposes, and has been working in this field since 1993. Most of his experience has been with corporate clients, although he has also written several books for mainstream publishers. Recent projects have included training and consulting in the maritime industry in South Korea, training courses for business English teachers in China, and in-house materials development for corporate clients. He is often invited to give keynote talks at international conferences, examples of which can be found on his website. The framework suggests looking at practical knowledge as a situated activity that mixes human and non-human actors in a web of mutual relationships.

This presentation explores the integration of a community of practice (CoP) into a learning management system (LMS) to promote social learning and collaborative knowledge sharing.
Shih-Wei Lo will cover the theoretical foundations of social learning and the CoP model, the benefits and challenges of integrating a CoP into an LMS, and practical strategies for its implementation and maintenance. The presentation will also include best practices and failures.
Participants will learn how to set up a CoP in an LMS and gain a better understanding of the processes and target group.
Building Communities from Within: Unleashing Learning Potential in Your Organisation, Anamaria Dorgo
This presentation is about building internal communities (”Employee Resource Groups”) and social and peer employee-led initiatives to promote learning within organisations. Anamaria Dorgo will share examples and practical advice from her four years of experience of building global, online communities.
Participants will learn a concrete engagement framework to boost the impact of internal communities and other employee-led initiatives, explore different peer and social learning projects, and understand why communities of practice are effective for promoting and sustaining a learning culture.
The case study of L&D Shakers, an award-winning global online community of practice for L&D professionals, will be used to bring the framework to life.
